Our Custom Album Design offers custom layouts made from scratch. We'll take those beautiful and precious memories of yours and professionally create a simple, elegant and timeless layout. 

Pair this together with your album order, and we will handle the entire process of taking your images, designing them all the way to printing and binding them into precious family heirlooms.

The design workflow:

  1. When your order is submitted, we'll send you a link to upload your images.
  2. We'll proceed with the design process, which takes approx. 2 business days
  3. Once ready, we'll send you a link. You can view, request changes or approve.
  4. We'll proceed with printing when you've approved the designs.

Because our album design service is done just for you by our designers, it includes:

  1. 20 page design
  2. Custom layouts with simple white background for a timeless look
  3. Includes 2 rounds of changes
  4. Online proofing where you can view the design to approve or request changes

Please note the following (terms & conditions):

  • Editing of images is not included and will incur additional charges (starting at RM10 per edit)
  • For all album sizes except the Petite Album: Includes 2 rounds of amendments. Additional charges will apply for any amendments made after the 2nd round at RM10 per spread (2 pages).
  • For the Petite Album: Includes 1 round of amendment. Additional charges will apply for any amendments made after the 1st round at RM10 per spread (2 pages).
  • Images sent to us must be in proper sequence, based on the filename. We will design them in the sequence sent to us.
  • Only upload the pre-selected images you'd like to have in your album design. Please do not upload the entire unselected set of images.

Limits for the number of images for a 20 page album are as follows. For more images, more pages are required.

  • 20 images for Petite Album
  • Up to 40 images for 8" (Small) album
  • Up to 50 images for 10" (Medium) album
  • Up to 70 images for 12" (Large) album
  • Up to 50 images for 9"x12" (Landscape) album

    (Limits do not apply if the album is self-designed with completed layouts. We will print as-is. Alternatively if you would like to have more images per spread, the free album design will not be applicable.

ALBUM DESIGN & LAYOUT

  • Every album layout is custom designed just for you.
  • Our album designs consist of a simple, timeless white background - the focus will be on your images.
  • On average (as a guide), a 20 page album will have a total of: 70 images for 12" album, 50-70 images for 10" & 9'x12" album, 30-50 images for 8" album and 20 images for the Petite Album.
  • After ordering, we will contact you via WhatsApp to coordinate the uploading of your images.
  • The design process will take approximately 1-2 business days.
  • We'll send you a link once it's ready, where you can view online, approve or request changes.
  • For orders with the Custom Dust Jacket and Quarter Bound Image Covers, we will design those as well.

ABOUT (Y)OUR ALBUMS

  • Our albums are flushmount albums (sometimes referred to as layflat albums) consisting of one continuous printed spread without any breaks, gutter or cuts in between.
  • Our pages are 1.2mm thick, with a heavy Italian made substrate between pages.
  • The album opens up to a vellum (translucent page) which can have names, titles, dates or more. It's followed by a single page (intro page) visible under the vellum giving the opening a beautiful and impactful look and feel. (Not available for the Petite Artisan Album)
  • The album includes 20 pages (not including the intro & vellum page).
  • The prints have a matte finishing with a layer of velvet like finish laminate on top for protection

OUR FLUSHMOUNT ALBUM. CRAFTED BY HAND, UNMATCHED IN QUALITY.

Our albums took years of trial and error, going through and testing various materials from all around the world. From cover to cover, we use some of the world's finest materials - Japanese silk covers, Holland made cover boards, Italian substrates, acid-free adhesives. But the core of it all is the unrivalled print quality of all our albums & prints.

Here's the most important bit. Many album makers, even from the US, Europe or Australia (even those in their 'premium range') use press prints or lab prints (photo prints such as Kodak or Fuji). Press prints are usually 6 colour prints, dye based, takes seconds to print and essentially cannot match inkjet printing. Our inkjet prints uses 12 colour pigment inks, the highest quality and longest lasting print type in the world, resistant against fading to over 100 years. Printing just the pages takes several minutes per page (versus several seconds with press prints or lab prints).

Traditional bookbinding methods. Each album takes approximately 5 hours to craft by hand (not including the time for printing and pressing), as each page is glued by hand individually, and each album cover is hand cut and hand cased. Each album is then placed in a book press overnight. And if you've opted for the handmade Artisan Box to store your album, each box is made individually after measuring your album for a perfect fit. These boxes are NOT ready made boxes.

Timelessness - decades from now, it must still look amazing. We don't follow trends. The albums that I make has to be timeless. They're not meant to follow the trend of the times. Which is why you'll notice the albums are simple & elegant. In fact, very little has changed over a decade since I started making these albums, and every available upgrade has to meet the high standards of being elegant and timeless.
